As a member of SCUG, the Sound Canvas Users Group, I get announcements of .mp3s being published by members. This artist from Auckland, New Zealand, Dave Jordan deserves your attention. Not only does he know how to work a PC-based MIDI sequencer to the hilt, he writes some great stuff as well.

I'd check out "Some Women of Marrakesh" and "Electric Weather" and "Miles Away". As a Canvas owner, I'd bet that the .wav files these 128Kbps files were made from sounded MUCH better.
