Some feedback on these two songs

Peruvian skin beater
It would be great if you could give me some feedback about this songs from my band called Mamifero (Mammal) http://mamifero.iuma.com
Those songs were recorded between November 01 and August 02, pretty slow don´t you think. We don´t have enough time, we all have to attend another activities and music is just a hobbie for us.
Hope you like it. Any advice or comment about mix, band sound, etc, please let me now.

Ves- This is a great tune. The acoustic at the beginning sounds out of tune but the rest of the instruments sound correct so maybe this is intentional? It sounds like a good mix level wise but it sounds like too much compression on the kick. Maybe lighten up on the attack and threashold. The vocal is good for the most part, there are a very few intonation problems. The harmony was definately out. No slams my friend, overall, I really liked this one.
Ficcion- Again good song. Almost has a U-2 feel. Great lead guitar chops. Same gig on the kick drum compression. The playing on both tunes is very good.
 
Listening to Ves. Nice tune man.
Sounds like the rhythm guitar is a bit out of tune. The mix is pretty good. Cymbals are too loud. They're burying a lot of important features of the mix. Vocals need a little more control of dynamics and pitch. Just a little. These are all just opinions.
The song itself is nice, some cool changes.

We record the acoustic guitar again but I make a mistake and send the version with the acoustic out of tune.
How do you work the kick sound??. Using EQ is one way??.
About the vocals, mmmmm, this guy is not a singer. This is his first experience. I think he´s doing his best. Maybe too much preassure for him. Actually he uses his voice for tv-spots, so he knows everything about breathing and using the stomach to talk. Maybe he needs to take lessons.
 
Ves - good tune.. I agree with all the other comments on this song.. nice changes, overall a decent recording..


Ficcion - the first guitar riff reminds me of the Ramones.. then U2.. most of the comments about the other tune can be used here.. the vocals etc.. another good tune though.. the first song sounds a lot crisper than this one..

After I read this post I start looking for some mixing tips, I found one thread started by SONUSMAN. Do you know where I can found more tips about mixing, some basic stuff. Levels, eq, effects, things like that???.
 
I like the tight sound. I would add like a little more reverb to make the whole band move back a little. The drums could breathe a little more with less compression. You have a good theme going there..
