Ok guys, here is the scoop. The body is done, but black chrome is not cheap, and hard to do right. Tolerances are really strict, so Stephen is always all over that.
Electronics are done...Listening tests start next week...No you can't broow it to hear how it sounds. Getting the custom FET's and transformers built to spec took forever, but they are done. I can tell you, Stephen knows his shit when it comes to doing a transformer....
So, where do we sit. Until we get the right tolerances and quality on the body, we do not move. This mic will be right, or it won't happen, but it will be right. It just took longer than we expected, but that is just the way it goes. We are finishing up the packaging, the shock mount and manual.
While this may all sound like next month to you, it is not. My guess is Fall, around August or September. If it happens earlier, then great, but a lot of work is still left to be done. I sure did step out of my comfort level when we took this project on...
Yes, we learned a ton from Stephen, but we also encountered a heavier work load. We think it is still worth it, and the quality is amazing.
