Watching the Grammys last night, I saw a drummer (can't remember which one... think it was more of a jazz style) that was using a Sennheiser e609 on his snare drum. I have wondered before seeing that if that would work. Now seeing it last night, I am curious if any one has used that mic on their snare. What were the results?

I tried it a while back. Didn't like it that much. Not as punchy as a 57 or my beyer201. to tell you the truth, I didn't like it on anything so I got rid of it. It fits in there though.

You tell us! How did it sound???If it sounded good ,there ya go! There are no rules to a certain degree.Experiment.

I did not try it yet so I can't say how it sounded. I was asking if anyone else has tried it. Thanks for your input, Talldog.

I tried one once after I heard numerous other folks swear by it.

It didn't do it for me tho... Overall, it made the snare sound thinner than what I was looking for.

It now hangs off my guitar player's Fender Twin at live gigs and I stick with an SM57 or D1 on my snare.

:)
