Hi

Wonder if anyone can help me? I'm tossing up the idea of getting a case built for carrying my Mesa-Boogie f-50, against buying a (somewhat ridiculously named) SKB-710 Amp Utility Vehicle.

Does anyone have one of these SKB's? And would you reccomend it? (the dimensions of my amp are as follows:
19" high
11" deep (front to back)
23" wide (left to right).

Here's the rub......The custom-built case is $650 (plus $50 shipping) - the SKB is $550, (plus $50 shipping) which is obviously cheaper, BUT there's only one in the country, so I have to pay for the shipping BEFORE I see it to decide if I want it or not.

Clear as mud? Probably!

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
SKB-710 amp utility vehicle................good or bad?

cheers

SKB sucks if you want it to deal with any real abuse. The latches suck, and they get warped and the lids don't go on right. They just suck. I have seen WAY too many amateur guys or SKB endorsers come into halls with their SKB cases totally fucked beyond repair.

Get a good case, an Anvil or a Slamhammer (one of the local vendors for those kinds of cases - there are hundreds I'm sure), or someone like that. It will last you a lifetime.

thanks

Much appreciated Light. Thanks for the tip. Not sure I can get Slamhammer or Anvils in New Zealand, so will go with the custom built job.

Cheers!

P.S. The lesson in forum ettiquette was a new one, but point taken. Consider my knuckles rapped.
