Hey guys,. Anyone have any thoughts about Shre PG series mics...especially the 57. I have sm 57s and pg 57s. I love the sm for micing guitar cabs and the pg does great also. Where I notice the difference is in drum micing. The pg seems to have a more fuller sound than the pg.
Any thoughts?

I bought two PG81s (condensers) to use as drum overheads a few weeks back. For that application I like them very much.

I tested them micing an acoustic guitar and did not like them. Even tried them x y axis stereo micing and thought they were not good. (I'm using a Martin D-41 acoustic in the test) Could see them as a close proximity vocal mic for the right voice. (but not mine)

But for drum overheads I'm really pleased with them.
