Satin maple fretboard cleaning?

What's the best way to clean a satin-finish maple fretboard? I would assume you don't want to use 0000 steel wool, like you would on a rosewood, and I also assume that the finish is more porous than a hard gloss, so something like lemon oil would soak in and change the finish. What do you other guys with maple fretboard Fenders and Squiers do?
 
I actually find scraping it with a pick works pretty well. The plastic pick is soft enough not to damage the wood.
 
You don't wipe it down with anything?

I guess I've done my part and them some to help alleviate pet overpopulation. ;)
 
I scrape the buildup away mostly, and occasionally wipe with a slighty damp cloth. You don't want sopping wet or the wood will soak it up and expand on you.
