Seriously, this past Christmas I took some family down Michigan Avenue here in Chitown to check out the holiday decorations and such. I was floored when we came across a business office (it was either some kind of financial chain or a travel agent, I forget exactly) right on the first floor, right on the corner, right in the heart of the city with windows looking right out onto Michigan Ave. Two desks, no computers, but two IBM Selectric-style typwriters. It felt like Christmas, 1976 instead of Christmas, 2006 . Nice and nostalgic.
I miss the keypunch machines that sounded like 50-cal machine guns if you know how to type fast enough .
