Well I think I got em fixed this time, I won`t be in such a hurry anymore, and not drinking about 3/4ths of a bottle of Chardonney either... :)

Track Rat, I think I found the bass drum. Black Sabbath please see how this high end sounds.

I think I`m ready to lay the other tracks on top now.

it's sounding better, but there is still sort of a muffled sound over it.. it reminds me of the sound you hear when someone encodes with a crappy encoder.. it is better, so you may want to just go for it, if you don't want to start from scratch.. maybe the other tracks will cut through and help it out..

You were right on it. My reference boxes are 'bout as good as Burger King service speakers so they didnt reveal it. I did a re-install of XP a week or so ago and thought all the setups would be saved. I opened audio devices while ago and looked at properties, XP had moved the Fraunhofer to the bottom of the list and a MS encoder was at the top. XP also lets you give them 1 to 10 priorities and XP had given it a 10 and theirs a 1. No wonder I been having trouble getting my sound back. I`m gonna bring the AR speakers in and replace these too, till I get some tanoy or something.

is that the bass drum, or the snare :eek: ? ? ?

The mix still has a muffled sound, but also like you've boosted some highs somewhere... highs that aren't in the original recording... very unnatural sounding. It's adding noise to the track, and clouding it up.

I'd ditch the EQ you have up to this point, and post an EQ-less version here... it would be much easier to determine where to go next, imo.

I`m taking that cut off the sight tonite. The last two mp3 conversion have sounded crappy. I lost my sound on the last two. I changed the encoder back to Fraunhofer today. The original .wav track is fine. I`ll encode it and put it up so you can have a listen. This really had me bumfuddled, I usually had more clarity and definition. Like I said the wavs are fine, the mp3`s sucked. I found also, that Sound Forge was using the microsoft synth for playback instead of the live! so I set that back up correctly too. Damn, I`m caught somewhere between being a Bull wrestler and and Ballerina lately. Maybe I need to get laid by a bus or something.

Toki, don't get it on with that greyhound just yet :D Obviously I'm no help, but the real players like Steve & Tom should get a chance to check it.... they'll help you without accidentally offending you :D

Naw, really I`m kiddin. There`s no hurry at all. It sounded bad after tried to get the bass drum up in the mix and pulled and pushed too much on it without getting up and walking away for a while. I got frustrated with it. I shitcanned the mp3`s but the wav trax are still intact. I`ve gotten good advice from these guys on stuff before, so..... when I get it like I want it, and if I put it back up they can kiss my ass...

.......ya know, this has been happening alot to me lately. You show up at someones post to find .......nothing.
