My first musical experience was as a sound/light/roadie guy for a garage band called "The Digits". We played Sex Pistols, Talking Heads, some other punk/new wave covers, and a good chunk of original stuff. The B-52s were part of the stuff we listened to, but I don't think we covered them. It was fun.
"Shiny Happy People" was actually by R.E.M. But Kate Pierson (sp?) from the B-52's was on that track. She also did a kick-ass job on "Candy" by Iggy Pop.
