all up in yo grill!
most people who play guitar are referred to as "guitarist". most of the time i hear people who play bass referred to as "bass player". do you guys like to be referred to as bassists? whats the deal guys?
Bassist sound a little odd to me, I'm not that good. Jaco was a bassist; I'm a bass player.distortedrumble said:most people who play guitar are referred to as "guitarist". most of the time i hear people who play bass referred to as "bass player". do you guys like to be referred to as bassists? whats the deal guys?
Toki987 said:As long as the intentions are good It has never really mattered to me. I did have a guitarist once that said " your just a bass player man, turn it down, it doesnt really matter if you can`t hear your bass good onstage". hehehe, when it came time for his solo I let him play without ANY bass.. I later asked him if he still felt the same way. From then on things went well...

Maybe the guys who are inexperienced do that.
Me, I play guitar/dobro/bass/pedal steel....

Their is nothing I respect more than a bass player that stays in the pocket and lays down a booty-shakin', undeniable, rock steady groove.
