While I am not having the problem my self, I am posting on behalf of some friends.
They are close recording mandolin w/ a SD Condenser (KM84s). Mics are placed within a few feet (2-4) of the instrument. Most mando players use pretty thick picks (1.5mm-2.0mm). I think this in conjuction with the dual courses of strings, produces more pick noise thatn recording an acoustic guitar.
Does anyone have suggestions on keeping the noise down? Any help would be great. Thanks.
