Hello all,

In May, I will be traveling to Italy with my college chamber singers for a tour. As well as singing in the group, I've been given the job of recording the concerts.

I have a portable setup that consists of my laptop, mixer, mics, and stands, but I'm not sure it's portable enough to bring overseas, especially the stands.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure I'll be able to make those kinds of arrangements, besides the fact that we'll be in different parts of Italy each day.

you might want to check your gear....voltage requirement is 220V there.
You also may want to look into renting portable audio equipment. I'm sure you can find a nice portable DAT and stereo mic combination that's relatively inexpensive. That'd be the ideal way.

Quite right, though I did think of a way to eliminate one problem. I can borrow a Tascam US-122 and use that instead of my mixer. It's USB powered and eliminates one problem.

Apple PowerBooks are rated for 220, I just need an adapter.

also, I'm assuming you'll be singing in and outside cathedrals....just a reminder, there may not be power sources every place you look...especially with old cathedrals.
