I've been thinking about drumsounds for our demo, and i realized i need 6 channels for drums.

1&2 Bassdrum and snare
3&4 Toms
5&6 Overheads

Every pair is the line in-jack of soundcard, so i'm using three soundcards simultaneously.

This is just an idea, now i'm asking, will it work?

Soundcards would be the cheapest soundblasters, for playback maybe a bit better one.

Thankkyaa,

No. I wouldn't even bother. Even if you get three soundcards reliably working in your machine, each will be running its own clock. Over time they will drift. You'll end up spending from $60 to $90 getting this crap setup...and that's money that could go to a good soundcard.

You also mentioned having a slightly better soundcard for playback...which is backwards thinking.

I think you need to bite the bullet here and get a big soundcard. You said "we", which leads me to believe that you're in a band or working with a friend. Split the cost, get a good card.

well, i'm getting those sb's free anyway. Even if they are all same model (pci 64v) they'll have a problem, why is that? Shouldn't the internal clock be same on each?

Ah clocks...the biggest problem in the digital world. No, the clocks won't be the "same", and as you record, the minor differences become major.

Aside from that, you can go ahead and try it. Theoretically it is possible, but probably not feasible.
