Can you record multiple tracks simultaneously with this software?

bdemenil,

I'm guessing you already saw my response in a previous thread response in a different thread. In case you didn't, check out https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?threadid=15550. I quoted a section from the online help.

My sound card limits me to two tracks at a time, and I've done that many times, but the software claims no limits other than what your sound card can do.

multitrack

I'm using two cards in sync as a virtual 4 track. Many n-trackers are using 8-in 24 bit dedicated high end cards w/breakout box for pro quality results.Even my $30 Ensoniq audio PCI card gives me -70 dB noise floor at 16 bit.The Card D and other pro cards are about -100 dB at 24 bit.

yup

Yeah, I figured out how to do it in preferences. I got a midiman delta 66 - 4 analog-in soundcard. A problem I have though - I can can only switch between recording 2 track (or 1 stereo) and 4 track (or 2 stereo). I can't choose to record 1 or 3 mono tracks. This means I have to delete empty
tracks after every recording if I'm recording odd numbers. Seems like there should be some facility to bind specific inputs to specific tracks. Hmmm...I'm going to investigate this further.

I've been toying with getting a new soundcard (still have the SB Live! that came on my PC) and I'd be interested to hear if you work that out. Can you post whatever you find?

soundcard - delta 66

I just got it 10 days ago from http://www.bayviewproaudio.com for $300. So far, I'm happy with it - although the instructions were written for morons. The midiman delta 44 also has 4 analog ins and 4 outs. The 66 also has a digital in/out though. The 44 is about $50 less than the 66. Neither have midi, but you can get a midicard seperate. both record in up to 24 bit, 96K(sample rate). The difference in quality between this and the soundblaster is phenomenal. I had alot of problems with buzzing and hiss with the soundblaster. I don't know how they compare to higher caliber cards.

Yo Hicks,

What's the other card you've got in your system? Do you run two AudioPCI's? I'm considering getting another one to do exactly what you're doing. How's the timing between the two cards? I had trouble when I tried to mix the AudioPCI with a cheaper generic card and really haven't tried again since.
