Recording Capabilites of V Amps

What exactly do the BASS V-AMPs have in the way of recording capabilites? I know it has midi outputs, so would I be able to record my band playing when the V-Amp is plugged into a PC?

No.

The MIDI ports are usable to control the parameters of the VAmp. MIDI data is not audio data.

You need to read up on what MIDI is. Don't feel bad, a lot of people make the assumption you are making about MIDI before they know anything about it.

Thanks, so what would you recomdend for direct guitar/bass recording straight onto a laptop?

You should definitely be able to record using the V-Amp direct into your audio interface...

Will the Bass guitar go straight into the computer without anything but a balanced line into the studio hardware.In other words do I need to give it any more power

You have to bring the signal up to line level with some sort of preamp be it a mixer, a v-Amp or some other accessory.
