Reaper Question

I just got the M-Audio 2496 and am using Reaper.

Everything is working fine but the project seems to always say 32bit no matter if I set it to 16 or 24 and I think this is making my CPU work harder than it needs to.

I read the 2496 manual and it says it uses an internal 32-bit engine so does that mean everything will always be 32 bit? :confused:

Ok, I recorded a track with the settings at 16 bit.

It still said 32-bit at the top.

But I right clicked the file in Windows and went to Properties and it says it's 16-bit so I guess it's still recording at the right bit-depth. :confused:
 
yeah that must be talking about something else, it looks like it's just showing properties of your sound card such as the latency and driver and what not. mine shows 32 bit too up in that same area, but all the wave files it records are 24 or 16 depending on the settings within Reaper.
 
check out my color scheme! i think i wanna make a different one too...

i'm lovin reaper so far. :D

i loaded up one of the color schemes from Reaper and modified it a little bit. i think i can email you the color theme save file if you want. ;)



maybe tomorrow night i'll work on a Homerecording.com/bbs styled color theme.

That'd be cool.

In the preferences it lets me choose a theme so if you could e-mail it to me that'd be awesome.

i'll do it then!

i'll make the backgrounds the same color as the forum, and make the meter lights red to green like the rep chiclets.
 
OK guys i made a quick HR based color theme for Reaper. if anyone wants to give it a look, you can PM me your email or somethin.

unless theres some way i can host it on here?
 
You should be able to zip it up and attach it to a post since they're real small.

Or e-mail it to me and I'll host it. :)
 
Here it is.

It should let me attach it here.

Unzip it and put it in:
C:\Program Files\REAPER\ColorThemes

And then load it from the Preferences.

it came out kinda dark now that i look at it. i'll re-do the colors tomorrow and maybe make a thread for the new and improved HR theme.
