really sweet sound clip effects

so ive been trying to slow down a sound clip i have but i cant find any software or techniques to do it right.
the effect im going for would make the clip start at full speed, tempo and pitch
and slow down in speed while the pitch drops also.

if you fast forward to the very end of the track, about the 3 minute mark
you can hear the whole track start to slow down
and then speed back up

any ideas of any software that can do this?

Adobe Audition can do that for sure.

I use that gimmick every now and again.

See if you can get a demo of Adobe Audition..... one of the plugs it's bundled with will do exactly that for you.

garageband

you could do this very easily with the recent version of Garageband, GB4.

make a new song or solo a new track
drag and drop your sound clip
use the automation curve to slow the tempo and drop the pitch as your desire
send the clip to itunes in mp3 or AAC
drag and drop it back in to your original song

any sampler (hardware or software) with a pitch bend wheel should also do this, no?
