Man, I am a newbie! Wasn't sure if I should post this under the old thread or a new one. How would the Creative & Ensonique sound cards compare to say the Echo Darla one. I know they're a lot less expensive & that idea I like. I want decent sound with I guess full duplex (?)& what, 16 bit? Or is 24 bit worth the extra jump? One more. Is it the full duplex that gives you the ability to hear what you're recording while playing back what has already been recorded?

If you go 24 bit you still have to dither back to 16 bit for 44,100 redbook standard.So right now its really almost a moral victory only to be cutting edge technology.
