Dear Harvey

You are an experienced guy with MXL mics.
Can you tell me how the V67 compares to the V69 soundwise?

And also how the 2003 compares to the V77?

I had a bigband session last weekend and used the (borrowed) V69 and V77 for saxes. And although I like the V77 on vocals more than the 69, on bariton saxes the 69 sounded a lot bigger than the 77.

So I wonder how a 67 and a 2003 would have sound in that situation.

Unfortunately, I can't answer your question right now. Stephen Paul has had my two V67's for about a year now, so I can't directly compare them to the V69ME. I'm hoping to get them back soon.

Thanks anyway Harvey, can't you remember how that 67's did sound? you must have some recordings from them I suppose.

I was quite surpriced about the V69, a Neumann M149 was on tenors, a V77 on alts and the V69 on baritons.

A perfect way to compare the mics, an M149 sounds great, but how many V69's can you have for that money?

I's also amazing to hear how the bleed of horns sound in those mics.
