hi there,

ok, i bought a behringer px1000 pachbay,
balanced and all,
i can change the configuration in five modes
by flipping the cards....
nicely explained in the manual,

but, ehm, am i overlooking something?
they don't say WHAT you have to do with the cards,
how to turn or swap them...

and i found some PDF that says "both jacks inserted,
one jack inserted, four jacks..."
are they talking about the 4 big screws that came with it,
they're too big to fit in my 19"rack and flightcase-rack,
so whats up with that?

i've put several cards in every possible way,
connected inserts from my mixer, compressors, reverb,
and seems like every connection acts the same way...

biggest problem is=
i wanna connect my reverb, but i always get a Loop so the reverb
is peaking all the time without any signal going to it..

guess i'm lost...

so whats the difference between this patchbay
and the px2000 where you just have to click a switch
and the configuration changes?

the one i bought is a copy of that Neutrik patchbay,
remove the front panel, switch some stuff and it should work....

but no...

no one?

The modes change depending on how many/where your plug your cables in

Example" if you have a cable in the front "1" and in the back "1" it will pass right through. But if you had a cable in the front "1" and and the back "1" and "2" the signal from the front will go to both of the back jacks.

Just follow the pictures.

Cut the jumpers

You must take the patch bay apart, remove the cards and cut the jumpers. It (the patch bay) is one of those ideas that looks great on paper but clearly they didn't take it in the studio and actually install it. For example, if you use 1 A and B rear for the stereo reverb but do not populate the front jacks then your reverb will get VERY upset with both inputs normalized together.

So, buy the patch bay but de-normalize it as soon as you get it home unless you have a permanent set up that you can install.

There are three jumpers on the card. Cut them to denormalize.
