Putin's Ukraine Mistake

Without US ground troops and air support, this conflict will linger and suck money from us.

I don’t believe Putin wants ground conflict with the US in Ukraine but you can bet that he is preparing for it as a contingency. Until then he is flaunting his military might by signing the defense treaty with North Korea, moving a fleet of warships (one of which is a nuclear submarine) 27 miles off the coast of Key Largo, and renewing Russia’s alliance with Cuba. He is laughing at Biden while giving him the finger. There will be no Ukraine victory that the US and allies can claim, only a negotiated deal to save the remainder of Ukrainian territories and cities.
LOL, Russian Navy.

Okay so...what exactly? The point of war is to break things and kill people. Both sides are doing that. Now the Ukrainians are doing it with our stuff AND our help. How long do you think Russia will tolerate that?
The post was intended to show that Ukraine is targeting military infrastructure as opposed to Putin murdering civilians.
Nothing more, nothing less.
I hate war.

If you read the article you must have missed the significance of Ukraine using the US-supplied ATACMS. They are guided to their targets but American drones operated by Americans. The GPS data is loaded onto the missiles by American operators. Russia is de facto fighting Americans. I hate war too but I hate even more that the United States is essentially at or about to be at war with Russia. This will likely get a lot worse.

I agree with an earlier post of yours about supporting a fledgling democracy, but this one does and has had the cards stacked against their favor. Putin is using everything conventional at his disposal that is a lot. This conflict should’ve been averted from the point of Russia amassing border military at the Ukraine border and Ukraine (no matter the amount of promises of support to them) not amassing their military and provoking their neighbor and former ruler. Arrogance is dangerous.

The best case scenario now is a loss of territory and negotiated concessions. If it continues, best case scenario could be total dominance of Ukraine borders by Russia.

Nah, didn't miss it, and have been paying fairly close attention.
US is trying to walk the line of supporting a democracy whilst not getting physically (humans/US troops) involved. Hopefully they can find their way into NATO

And I’ll add this…Democracy I consider somewhat akin to Christianity in that not every nation or history or culture should be forced into a mono cultural paradigm. The key term and modus operandi here is ‘force’. And it’s when mighty powers enact that force that leads to conflict. Then whole space race in the ‘50s/‘60s was basically a message to the world of which was the better rule of government: Communism with a socialist structure or a Democracy republic with free capitalism. Each subscriber believes their way is the best so wants to impress their way on the entire world.

Ukraine conflict will not end well for Ukraine. Whatever encouragement behind their defiance after peace with Russia following disintegration of the USSR, Ukraine pushed too far and got too cocky. That kind of shot happens sometimes.

And conversely, Autocracy/Fascism should not be forced on Ukraine.

Yet they adopted it, and continue to try and further it.
Do you want them to quit?
Do you want them to be run over by fascism?
They didn’t time or plan it through properly. Their repercussions are an unfortunate result of that.

They should step back, learn from mistakes, and determine what is their most advantageous result then embrace it and move forward from there
