I am experiencing sudden dropoffs of volume when recording with my B1. I have been using an ART tube amp with the phantom power on. Is this the problem? What do you recommend for phantom power on the B1?

Try plugging another condenser mic (one that you know works) into your Art Tube... and if doesn't drop out... then most likely there's something wrong with your Studio Projects B1.

Also, check your chords to see that it's not that.
I actually ran into a similar problem, but it was because of something else...I have a compressor in the mix, and forgot that I turned up my noise gate to try and filter out a bunch of background noise during my previous use. The next time I used it I was f*cking with every cable thinking there was something wrong with it. Fortunately it was just that.
