hey there, will pantom power cause other equipment to buzz? I was recording a band live last week, and had a couple condenser mics over the drums. so i needed the 48 v. but the bass player and the lead guitar player were plugged direct into the board also. there is a faint buzz in the mix. could that be the culprit?? the bass player was just gutar straight in, but the guitar plaer had a stomp box, etc, and then xlr out to the board.

Thanks,
JasonBird

If your mixer is plugged into a different powerpoint than the guitarist, there might be a groundloop issue

I would think the source of the hum was much more likely to be the bass or the guitar, but you need to isolate the source by muting channels until you find it.

Easy enough to test if the phantom power is making the buzz.
Record with phantom on, then record with off.
