Oktava Sucks!...

I'm guessing the 10dB pad is to be used to reduce the sensitivity when recording really loud sources like drums, it might keep your meters out of the red when you close mike.

I was trying to record some hand held percussion thingys (technical term) the other day with my Oktavas and kept exceeded 0 dB, I'm going to try the 10 dB pad to see if it helps.

As far as the extra capsules go, Guitarrgh Center sells a "capsule kit" with the hypercardioid and omni capsule for $80-90
negotiable. The Sound room sells matched capsule pairs. and I don't know the price because I haven't bought one, check their web site. I know they sell individual capsules for about $60. I bought one omni just for close mic'ing.
