Hello there,
I am interested in getting some recording equipment, but have NO idea even where to start, and was hoping that you guys could help me out. I am looking to record Acoustic / Classical / Electric Guitar / Electric Bass / Piano / Vocals, and to mix it. I've written a bunch of songs, and I've even written them into Guitar Pro 5 ( A program I am very familiar with ).

I was just wondering where I should start with all this. Any tips on what microphone, preamp, or program I should be using on a 600 dollar budget?

Equipment:

Ibanez GIO Electric Guitar
Yamaha Gigmaker Bass Guitar
Pearl Forum Drum Kit
Marshall MG50DFX Amp
Manuel Rodriguez C-1 Classical
Art & Lutherie CW Cedar Black Acoustic
Piano

Thanks,
PoCripple

the place to start is with the prog... there are lotsa them and they all do the same thing... just differently...lol... ya gotta find which one works best for you... you're not gonna get anything done if ya cant get your head around it... then what machine... assuming you're going for a separate machine for recording... or what would you need to change/add to your existing pc... more ram??? a dedicated harddrive??? etc..

Ya might check thru this place too...

And do a search here once you get some of the terminology down. The folks around here have got savvy when it comes to this stuff.

You've got some reading to do man.....
but the cool part is...
#1...you'll get addicted to this stuff.
#2...you'll be broke from here on.
#3...you get to hang out with us.
#4...you'll be broke from here on.
