hello, we are new to recording but are actually having to time of our lives! having just found this webpage this is great as i'm sure there's a ton of information that can help use get better (will need some extra time to get through all the forums!). This is our 2nd song we recorded just this past week - Rode NT1a into Mackie Blackbird into Tracktion. Mixing was far more difficult than i had imagined especially not knowing how to use compression, EQ all that much. Any advice on this track would be appreciated. Enjoy!

DISCLAIMER: I'm only listening with headphones.. Anyway - really natural sounding capture to me. Vocals and guitar sound good. Harmony vocal is a little high. Doesn't seem to suffer from a lot of the newb issues... Huge Dylan fan here, and I think you did the tune justice.

Pretty good, I would drink a beer to it. Welcome to the board!:drunk:

Thank you chuckduffy, that's all we can ask for! We'll take another listen to harmonies. atkron, we are having a blast recording, 6 more slated including If I had a boat by Lyle Lovett. I'm sure this board will provide lots of help and advice.

Drop the harmony just a little. It sounds fine as is but a little less will blend nicely. Nice guitar tone. It is fun to do isn't it!
Keep 'em coming.

Ah, big fan of this tune. I'm partial to the Sweetheart of the Rodeo version myself.

Really nice guitar work, the playing is thoughtful and articulate. Thanks for posting.
