I've still gotta finish mixing this but wanna get some input first.
Any suggestions appreciated

Wow! This is pretty damn good. Real good. The mix is outstanding. I do think the toms are panned too wide. When they'd roll I thought it was a little unnatural. The rest of the mix is very spacious. I can listen to this.

Nice tune

Since you are still in the mixing stage the instruments seem to lack the brightness that the vocal has. A bit heavy on the reverb on the vocals for my taste but that could blend a bit if you tweaked the instruments.
Actually, everything is swimming in reverb and that takes away from the mix as a whole (This is only my opinion!)
The tune could use something to change up the mood a bit. Perhaps an added bridge or taking the melody into a different key for a bit.
Don't get me wrong, this is real good!

Nice effort and look forward to hearing the finished product!

Nice. On your web page, you didn't list Pink Floyd as an influence, but listening to your track, it sound a lot like Floyd.

The reverb goes well with the moodyness. Great guitar, man.

Exactly what I heard when those 99% roger waters vocals came in :p

I like this too, very "right" for the genre. I don't like the effect on the lead vocal, and I'm wondering if you were trying to mask a poorly recorded vocal track... ;)

The toms do roll a bit too far like trackrat suggests, pan them slightly more center and you got it.

Where's the bass? You have this roilling thunder bass in parts, but the acoustic section could use some tasteful noodling :).

Overall, I liked this a lot[/i], tighten it up and cram it up your mp3.com

bye bye :p

I thought you did a very good job on this. At first I thought the reverb was a little too heavy. But after a while I liked it. The electric guitar lead break was terrific.

Not sure what the lyrics were trying to say. The acoustic lead break was a bit quiet in parts.

Good job.

Hey - Okay

This is an unreleased Floyd jam from yesteryear, right?

Very Nicely done!!!

Schmange,

I feel like I know you man, since you taught me how to shred and tap over at guitar tricks!!

A little too much tank on the vocals and the lead gtrs. Muddies up the attack and your great leads lose clarity. (imho)

Veerry listenable tune and with the changes mentioned in previous posts (panning on toms, more bass during acoustic lead etc...) this tune could be a commercial success.

By the way, that lead guitar sounds almost like it came straight from the Johnson J-Station.....

Keep it up and here's hopin' that you meet with the successes that your hard work renders appropriate!

good tune..

the vocal sound seemed too crisp compared to the music..

great lead!

Very good...............I'm a big Floyd fan and this has the feel. If you pull the 'verb back; don't pull it back very much.
And the vocals are sorta bright but it really kinda has the sound of the Dark Side of the Moon vocals. I didn't care for the flange in the voice though.
Oh....and good bass sound....I mean really good, please tell me about that.

Great song. That bass part is wicked. somtimes the simpler the better. The toms seem WAYYYY too wide listening on my headphones, especially with the hihat so close to the center.

Great lead, nothing like a good peel out over a slow rock balad :) although I heard a sour note around 445. I liked the deep reverb on the lead guitar, but the dry signal could have been sharper.

Many thanks for all the great suggestions.
I've incorporated a whole bunch of em into a new remix..

Most of all, I re-did the toms, took off some reverb, cleaned up a bunch of tracks and basically took more time on the mastering.

If anybody thinks there's anything else I should definitely change before I print it, lemme know.
