New blues/fusion tune

I just got a Deluxe Reverb Reissue about a month ago and hadn't had a chance to really crank it up and see what it could do. This weekend I was reviewing an Ibanez Artcore AS73

for a magazine, and playing through the DR inspired this little tune. I think of it as a "Robben Ford meets Chitlins Con Carne" thing.

It's just the Artcore straight into the amp. For the overdrive section, the DR was on 9.

This is the first mix, so opinions are welcome!

Very cool sounding. The ac gtr and organ, and their panning make just the right setting.
 
Sweet tones and balance. Enjoyable tune too. Mix sounds good, perhaps those acoustic strums at 1:30 stick up a bit much. Cool clean outro tone :cool:
 
Great song! I'm reminded a little of 'Bob' from Vital Information but with more bite on the guitar :)

I like the panning of the acoustic guitar , but something about the organ laying so far on the right seemed a little distracting (only at times tho)... Maybe duplicate the track and pan the 2nd one as far to the left to fill out?

Just a thought (and a very trivial one at that)

Not being as cultured in this genre as, well, probably everyone else on this board, these comments may mean very little coming from me, but I thought it was really cool. I got a 'Santana does the blues' vibe out of it, and really dug the tones you were getting. You'd notice if this came over the speakers in your favorite BBQ place.

I'm listening on laptop speakers, so I can't judge the low-end of the mix, but everything from low-mids to high frequencies sound fine :rolleyes::o
 
The bass definitely sounds very good on this track. Very tight and punchy, and never gets lost or muddy. Good job.
 
listening as I type:

1. oh yah baby...triangle, dead left!
2. good tones!
3. :37. nice! there's those blues man. - ORGAN!
4. bass / kick marry up nicely. Not a fan of the way the toms sound tho...just me tho...
5. ORGAN. it's at 3O'Clock...i would try it out around 1:30 or 2
6. great tones, great organ sound...was that the real B3 or something else like a Nord?

nice playing, nice mix, nice groove. good work.

Elcholo: The organ was my EMU Vintage Keys module.

Maybe I'll try bringing the organ in toward the center a bit. Several people seemed to mention that.
