Hi guys,

I got a projectmix i/o early for Christmas. I had it all set up and connected via firewire to my pc. Using Sonar 6.0 producer edition. It worked great, no problems and then the driver somehow got blown out.

So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, but it seems to think it has been installed already. It does not load the control panel, nor does the pc seem to see the connection with the PMIO.

I tried deleting everything with m-audio in the registry, then reinstalling but to no avail. It's the drivers aren't even there. I have also downloaded the latest drivers and tried that.

I thought maybe there was something wrong with my Firewire adapater, (3 in one socket) but my external hard drive works in all three ports.

So I got a new toy for Christmas, and a Monster 3500 power conditioner (my wife is awesome) and now I can't even play with it as tech support is gone until after Christmas and I start working full time again.

Anybody else have this problem and perhaps have some ideas how I can fix it. This sucks! Thanks for your help. Happy Holidays everyone!

Thanks,

Thayne

that blows.

one thing i hate about PC's are the unrelenting driver issues!

it would work fabulous on a mac!

anyways..

unplug everything from the computer, both the external and the PM. open it up and rip that firewire card out. boot the comptuer, shut down, then boot and again delete evrything, clear the reg etc.

then put just the card back in.

boot, shut down, start up again.

turn off, and then plug your stuff in and see if you can go with it.

you have to uninstall the plug thing itself
because i know what you mean you have to go to hardware and devices and whatever project mix is either 1394 or usb 2.0 i have no idea it will show the project mix as ??????? because you probably plugged it in before you installed the driver maybe?
anyway thats what happened with my motu
if you plug it in before you install the driver you can confuse your system

Thanks guys!

Thanks guys...I'll give that a try and see what happens! It sucks having a new fun present and not being able to play with it...although I did get my new Monster 3500 Power Conditioner working...woo hoo!

Merry Christmas!
