I'm looking for a "quiet small guitar amp (30 watts 1x12 or so) with a line out to record with. My Tech 21 Trademark 60 is a great live amp for gigging but it has too much inherent hiss for my needs. I can record direct into my Tascam 2488, but I also want the option of mic'ing an amp. A modeling amp would be nice (I don't mind solid state), Line 6 piques my interest. Anybody have any suggestions.

Line 6 Spider II

i have the 30 watt 1x12 Line 6 Spider II
good amp! and has a line out, easy to use and works great live too!
and the price was not bad i think i paid $200 for mine at guitar center.
some people are using the Vamp now and if you just want line out you might try that one for about the same price.

+1

I got a Spider II 15 for Christmas. You can hear it here.

The solo in Psycho Surfer, the solo in nice b n young, and all the guitars in Kinda Hazey and Untitled were recorded direct using the Spider.

It's very easy to use.

Rivera Pubster. 25 watts, 6V6's into a 10". I love it.

What's your budget?

Check with thatupstateguy - look at the jamfest thread in the Cave or send him a PM.

Small handmade tube amp .... sweetest thing I've seen yet.

I have a lot of Line 6 Stuff POD 2.0, Fletone II HD/Cab/Floorboard, BAssPOD. For recording they are ideal and you have no noise problems at all. You can get a lot of great tones out of them for recording, but you do need to spend a little time with the units as I am not a big fan of the presets. Line 6 just came out with a POD XT Live which is basically a Vetta/POD XT amp models built into a floor board. The unit actually has a ton of capability. I am actually thinking about investing in that myself. I would recommend certainly.

i would say a fender blues Jr with a sansamp tri-ac front end :) also, look into building a small amp, theres a good website out there, ax84 or something like that, just google it.
