I know you guys are gonna hate me, but I'm sincerely trying to learn,so bear with me.

I just ordered my first real PC. I don't know what kind of soundcard it comes with. I've been looking at multitracking programs all over the place. And I think I'm gonna go with N-Track,here's my question.

I want to be able to mic acoustic drums on a mixer, get a good overall mix, then run them in stereo into my PC. Can I do this with a standard soundcard(Soundblaster or something similar)? If not what would be a good suggestion for a soundcard?

Everything else I will only need to run one thing at a time.
Any suggestions?

Yes you can do that with most newer soundcards....of course, like that you are confined to that mix once recorded....once you really get into youll want to get at least a 4 input soundcard so you can do maybe a kick, snare, and stereo overhead on 4 separate tracks and can have control over them individually at mixdown......

I recommend the Ensoniq Audio PCI card, about $30 and great headroom for a 16 bit card.
