Hi,

I'm using a Digi 003 with Pro Tools. I also have Mytek stereo 192 AD converters. It's all connected up and working fine using a SPDIF cable from the MYtek unit to the SPDIF 'IN" on the Digi 003. So my question is.. when I plug a mic into the mic input on the Digi 003.. does that mean that the stock AD converters on the 003 are automatically bypassed for that signal? Or do I need to run some kind of output out of the 003 and into the XLR input on the back of the Mytek unit?
If so.. where do I run the output on the 003?

So basically.. I want to use the 003's mic pres but with Mytek AD converters instead of the 003's AD converters.

Hope that makes sense! Thanks for looking and I hope you have the answer!

Thanks.

The digi conversion will not be bypassed. The mytek that you've added on is a new and separate path.

The four mic preamps in the digi 003 don't have a pass-through, or direct output.
The only way to get a mic preamp channel sent to a line level audio output is to go through digi's conversion both ways first, which kinda defeats the purpose, right?

Long story short, all the analog inputs are subject to digidesign conversion. All the digital inputs rely on the conversion of extra equipment.

Look on the bright side though; It's a great excuse to buy more preamps. :)
