Hey all-

I have a cheap old Strat that had pretty much become useless to me, so I decided to do a bunch of stuff on it to make it a useful guitar to me again. I put in a set of Gibson Burstbuckers I had laying around and put some Sperzel locking tuners on it, as well as graphite saddles. Anyways, I made a quick web page with some pics that may be of interest to someone else wanting to fool around on their guitars. I'm not a guy with any skills, just a player, and I think it came out pretty nice.

Check it out here:

How do you like the graphite saddles? I've been thinking about getting some.

That's cool, man! I similarly hotrodded a Squire Bullet. Lots o' fun!

So far I like the graphite saddles just fine. The old ones were complete crap, so I can really tell a difference. I'm going to try out the Ghost piezo saddles later this year in the guitar. They seem really cool to me.

Looks good. The only thing left is to get a nickle plated single coil for the middle. ;)

LOVE that story, man. ;) And the guitar looks great!

Some instruments are more than just instruments, they're old friends. Glad you found a way to keep this one in regular use.

I'd love a guitar like that, looks like a blues machine!

whoa that looks awesome

what kinda tone do you get outta that

i gotta get my guitar player to tweak with his guitar

thanks guys.

The tone is really great. The bridge pickup sounds really close to my SGs. Scary close sometimes. The HB blend position and the neck pickup are really thick and meaty. Then the single coil on its own sounds purely Stratty. Its a great combo to have. The one position where the single coil is mixed with the neck humbucker is a very interesting sound. It has the smoothness of the bucker, but its also in-between strat sounding. Its pretty unique. Its almost like hearing two seperate pickups instead of its own blended sound.

Between the locking tuners and the graphite saddles, this thing is a tuning dream. And the sustain seems to be way better than it ever was before.

That looks REAL cool. I'm trying to resurrect a couple of old guitars now myself. Those tuners have my attention.

A timely post! I'm waiting on new Seymour Duncan '59 SH's to do the same for my strat but no single coil. All I have to do is wait for delivery and wait for delivery and...............
Looks good.

Very nice, That is making me very temped to try to frankenstien my old japanese strat....

I just got a job in a guitar shop and that page has inspired me to get a half-decent body and neck guitar in for peanuts and bastardise it with new pickups, hardware and wiring. I might even learn something useful!

That's a 100% unique guitar you have there now, which is always cool to have in your collection.
