I am running a mixer through effects into an 8 track fostex digital recorder and from there to my vcr and tv (to make music videos) and from there to my headphones - to monitor equalization.

My keyboard goes through the same setup.

As I sing I get a delay instead of the same beat with the keyboard.

I've turned off all my effects that have a delay in them and yet still have the delay.

My equipment is a xenta 1204 FX mixer to a feedback controller to a virtualizer pro to the recorder.

Does anyone have an idea what could be causing that delay.

Any help appreciated.

Take everything out of the equation other than the mixer and the Fostex and try again. The feedback controller and that virtualizer (I am not even sure what that is) are probably causing the delay effect.

Try recording the keyboard first, then coming back and singing over that track.

OK, I just googled that virtualizer thing. Definitely take it out of your chain. You may want to use it for mixing, but don't track with it unless you really need to.
