mxl v67 with joe meek vc3Q good combination?

I want to trade my 2001P in for the v67. Mars has a good deal. does anyone here use this mic and pre combination? Has it worked well for you?

musix, my understanding is that the V3Q is going to be replaced soon with an updated
model (the mic pre portion will have "current sensing")-maybe Alan will explain it here
if he sees this thread! Also he's coming out with the B1 (list $99) next month, so my
advice would be to wait and see, thereby keeping your options open.

Do you need something ASAP?

Hey Musix,

I just put my 2001p in the box my C1 came in..see, now I know why I bought the C1...its for the great sound abd oh yeah...the box. I was sold on the hype of the Marshall when it first came out...but put it up against the C1 and its no contest. However, some folks swear by the v67...never heard it myself. I'd love to trade my 2001p (excellent shape..few hour and the 603 that came with it for something that I could use) Heck, I even put my CAD away the other day...knowing that the C1 would be all I need for now.

I've heard really good things about this pre. but I might try to get a refund from samash on the mxl 2001p. It coming in the mail soon. I'm not even opening the box so I hope they'll take it back. If not I'll have to exchange it for another mic in stock. I bought the mic impulsively. next time I'm going to do some research.

That would be a fine combination. Truthfully, you wont hear the difference between the C1 and the v67. But the C1 has a better looking case.
