I am trying to get more air in my recordings! I am tracking with AT-813 condenser mic into ARK24\96 soundcard, and n-track. I record flat and then add effects as I mixdown. I am not happy with the n-track presets for compressor and reverb, as my mixes seem to muddy. Could anyone help me with some settings for n-tracks reverb and compressor, for vocals I 've read where you need a fast attack and medium release, but what is fast and what is medium?
Any help would be appreciated!

Did you buy the n-track reverb and compression or are you using the demos? If you are using the demos I sugguest that you get the Blue line set of plugin's they are really good and free! Usually the smaller the number the smaller the attack time and same for the release...the bigger the longer the release. If you want to get your vocals to sound less muddy boost around 4-5 khz and roll a little off of the bottom. I hope this helps.

You mentioned: "get the Blue line set of plugin's they are really good and free"

What are these and where are they located?

Thanks! :)

sae,
I already bought the n-track plug-ins, and I have the blue line also. I got those for the filters but I will try the comp and eq. Note to those looking for blue line. Just search the net for blueline plug-ins and they will show up somewhere.
Thanks sae

This question doesn't really relate directly to n-Track. This is a more basic question about recording/mixing. Try posting your question (or searching) in the mixing or newbie forums and you'll get more advice.
