I would like to know which of these monitors are better please. They will be near a computer and they are the only ones I can afford right now. If you have any experience with any of these please post a review.

Active Monitors:
Samson Resolv 40a, M-Audio StudioPro 4, M-Audio Studiophile DX4 Professional Desktop Monitoring System, Yamaha MSP3, Event Tuned Reference 5.

Hey RobertN

I've heard the Event TR5 and I would probably go with that one out of the list you have there. However, I have not heard the Samson Resolv 40a or the Yamaha MSP3. In this price range I don't think you can go wrong with the TR5.

Maybe the Event TR6. I've got PS6 and they're swell!
I agree!

I got a pair of PS6 (without a sub) and I haven't had a single complaint, but then again I don't do Hip Hop or anything with Bass on it. Eventually I'll get a sub, but that'll have to wait.

The tr5 is not in my price range. So are the Wharfedale 8.2A

Well that was on the original list you had.
However, the M-Audio for $150 should be nice for that price range, but I've not heard them.

If you can go on e-bay and see what you can find for the price range you are looking for (or pawn shops), but usually on Monitors is very competitive on e-bay. I've yet to find any bargains for Monitors (Except my Events PS6 for $300 the pair and it wasn't that big of a bargain).

I wasnt paying any attention to it. I didnt know they were $150(ea.)

TR5's with an M Audio SBX sub is a freakin' amazing low cost monitoring solution. Someone had accidentally listed an SBX sub as a SB8 on ebay so it didn't show up when SBX was querried. I ended up getting it for an unbelievably low price.

I want all my stuff new. No ebay please.

Good luck building up your inventory. Buying used has probably saved me over a few thousand dollars since I've started getting into audio production about three years ago. To date there's not one peice of used gear that I own thats needed any type servicing. Why would you want to buy new when you can save soooo much $$ buying used?

I like new stuff, opening the box is for the first time feels good. Plus you really dont know what your getting with used gear. I just perfer new gear.

I'm not going to slander the man, but a week without contact is nothig compared to the shit I've been going through. Not all his fault though.
