midiman delta66.....what gives???

sorry about the redundant questioning, but i just gotta know....
i saw a sound card that sparked my intrest....the midi man delta66.
wow does anyone really need a 24 bit 96khz(think thats right?) recording capibility? how does this card stack up in sound quality compaired with the event electronics gina? never heard of the company... midiman??

Would you record at 8bit 11khz?
No, you'd probably wanna go as high as possible right? (even though when converting to .cda, it gets dithered down to 16/44, I'd still wanna start with the highest I can go)
I have a Delta66 but I can't give a comparison on how it compares to a Gina cause I've never heard a Gina. I can't seem to find too many people in my area that are into computer recording.

Midiman has been around for a couple of years. They make great products for less and have one of the best performing AD/DA converters out there.

Tech support however is like calling into a sheephearder tribe in the Sahara. They are so keyed into their own world they are tuned out to politeness. "So what's your problem dude" is the type of response you are likely to get. This was my experience.

That said, their products are exceptional quality. Sorry Midiman but it's true...

I have a Delta 44 (quite similar to 66) and I´ve been in touch with Midiman support for a couple of times and have good answers.
Maybe my kind of problem was quite different to Middlemans...
The only thing I ask you, signal, is that you have sure if the product satisfy your needs, because after it doesn´t to cry...

I have a Delta 66 and it sounds wonderful. That said, I still cannot get my PC working reliably with it and an SB Live (which is my only MIDI synth) and a Midiman Midisport 2x2 USB MIDI interface. Many folks seem to suggest that the soundcards each should have their own IRQ unshared with anything else and on my system this is impossible unless I disable either the on-board UDMA66 drive controller or the on-board USB controller. What happens is that the computer locks up while I'm running Cakewalk; sometimes it takes a long time before this happens (like 2 hours); sometimes a very short time (like less than a minute); and it only happens when I run Cakewalk.

My experience with the M Audio tech support folks was good at first -- very quick responses, and reasonably helpful -- until I'd been through all the obvious and worked my way down to the subtle, at which point they seem to have stopped responding to me.
