I like to record guitar and vocal through condenser mic. I have been using dynamic mics and they are not good enough. I have about $200 to spend. I will be placing the mic infront of the amp.
Also i like to know the difference between the size of the mics.
thanks guys!

Look for a used Audio Technica 4033. It's a mid sized diaphram condensor (5/8"). Decent vocal mic, great on acoustic guitar, drum overheads and such and it sets nicely in front of loud amps. If you look around you can find them for $200-$250 or so.

You might want to read the little sticky thread at the top of this forum for a better understanding of the differences in mics due to size and patterns.

amentiz, with all due respect, you may not want to entirely rule out dynamic microphones for these two applications.
What dynamic microphone(s) have you been using so far?

For example, a Sennheiser 421 can sound excellent for vocals-including group vocals up to a trio(!), and on a guitar amp too.
You could pick one up in nice condition for around $200 on e-bay.
Be aware that the newest model (MKII) is brighter than the previous ones, so selection can be a matter of taste.
