Micing my Ba115 for recording with an sm57?

would i be better off line in via XLR on my ampeg BA115? or by using my sm57? i just need to get a good sound and tone out of my bass playing. the style is a mix of tool and slipknot. some songs are realy heavy (i play 4 string) and some are more dyverse bass lines with chorus and flange. and a lil fuzz thanks!

An sm57 may not handle the really low frequencies of a bass cabinet really well. Many people (myself included) record bass direct, and it can come out really well that way.
