best way ? also can anyone recommend a good power break or whatever they are called so i can crank it.

cheers

I have a deVille ...... I believe that's 4X10" speakers .... one model is 2X12 and the other is 4X10.

I'd pick one of the speakers on top to mic so you get away from the room boundary. Alternatively you can put it up on a chair.

I'm in the market for a power brake myself but I've just started so I don't have a specific model to recommend but you'll definitely need one ..... that's a potent amp.

Yeah, the volume control goes from "Is it on?" to "The cops are here!" in about 1/32 of a turn. Very sensitive!
The Blues Deville is one of the best sounding production amps ever made by Fender (in this price range).
I paid $599 for mine. It's worth $1000+ to me.
Hold on to it, if you can.

BTW, the 2X12' model was made between '94 - '96 (I think)
The amp was discontinued in '97 and has not (to date) be reissued, BUT...
They have made several similar amps that are supposed "reissues" of older amps (at much higher prices).
I played a couple of these "vintage reissues" and none of them sounded any better than my Deville. Not worth twice the price.
