Anybody have any tips for this? I'm thinking we'll take a DI right off the organ, then I'll put a 414 on the leslie (my only other available option for mics would be a 57).

I'm wondering if i should use the pad on the 414? i'm thinking i want to get the mic as close as possible to minimize bleed, and these guys play at a fairly loud volume...

Anything else i should take into consideration?
Thanks.

In the past I had the leslie in a empty room off stage and used 2 57's.

You may find a windscreen helps if you get really close. You can also point the leslie towards a wall or something, it can help cut bleed.

hmmm, that makes me wonder if i should just use a 57 then. these guys don't play crazy loud, but the leslie is gonna be the only amplification for the organ...

thanks for the input.

you could use the 414 on the bass speaker and the 57 on the horn. i'd probably try the pad on the 414 first and then turn it off if you aren't getting enough signal.

I'd probably go with a single 57 about two feet from the back of the enclosure about about two thirds the height of the cab up. I'd take off the rear panel over the horn too.

In a small club two feet from the leslie could end up being six inches up the lead singer's ass. :D
