Just curious about a good mic placement technique for toms. I just recently upgraded my set up and I now have the ability and enough microphones to mic each tom. I've never miced toms before and I just wondering if someone could give me some pointers. I'm recording on a Roland VS-2480 with three Shure SM-57's for toms... I'm also using a Sm-57 on snare and a Shure Beta 52 on kick... I'd also like to use an additional couple of AKG C-1000's for overheads... any tips on placement of overheads would be nice too. I'm looking for a nice cymbal sound with clarity and good stereo seperation. Thanks in advance for any reponses.
