I'm recording death metal rythm guitar using a behringer mixer without phantom power, and a beta SM57. I am not satisfied with the lower frequency response Im getting. Im going through a Crate GFX 212-t. Any suggestions how I may get a little more low end in the rythm guitar tracks?

how close is the mic to the speaker? the closer it is, the deeper it will sound

I'm right next to the speaker at a perpendicular angle.

I would try doubling the guitars for beefiness and add the low end with EQ. Crates seem naturally a little tinny to me.

is it lacking low end by itself? or do you see it lacking low end once it is mixed with all the other instruments?
