hey there...
I have bought some basic stuff to build my home recording studio but the computer ( laptop windows xp ) that i have is crap... so i am planning to buy one soon... Until now I ve been basicly working on fl studio and cool edit pro...
I know nothing about cubase and other famous programs . From what i know and heard, macs are better than pcs on audio editing due to the fact that i may have more choices on software hardware and maybe more easy to work on...
Fl studio cannot work on a mac.. should i buy a good pc to work fl studio or should i buy a mac and try to learn some new programs and stuff...

Whats ur advice?

Thnx ;)

Well I think you got it wrong, I think Mac's have less program (software) options than PC's;)

I do however use a Mac myself, used PC for many years.

Mac's are usually more expensive, but in my experience much simpler.
Everything works out of the box.

I use logic (mac software)now, Cubase user for many years.
But after trying logic I was sold, best audio program I've tried.

A friend of mine put it this way, he wanted to spend his time being creative, not figuring out how to get the shit running.

I use a desk top PC that is dedicated for audio work. It is not connected to the internet or my internal network.

Never had any issues with my set up.

My audio interface is a RME-Audio Fireface 800. Running Tracktion 3

The firewire card in the computer has a TI chipset.

Don't fall for biased opinions. It's no different than Ford Vs Chevy syndrome. Some people like Ford some people like Chevy.

I like PCs because I've always used PCs. I've never used a mac and although it's tempting to try something new, some really nice Mac systems have come out, it's just more money than I want to take a risk on.

I build PCs all the time and I know I can upgrade my PCs and have systems that are able to handle all the new programs and video games that are released without having to buy whole new computers and with out having to pay as much money.

Until recently I had 1 main computer to do everything on. I would use it for recording, gaming, surfing the web, graphics design, video editing, website design and just about anything else you can think of.

As you can see, I used it for EVERYTHING.

So, think about what you're going to be doing with your computer - mac or PC. Make the choice that is right for you, and try not to pay attention to all the garbage people say about which system is better. The real question is what system is better for you?

Go to a Mac store and tell them you want to test out some macs to see if they are right for you, but don't let them sell you one. LOL Salesmen will tell you anything to get your to buy an inferior product.

My last advice to you is to never trust anything the "Geek Squad" at Best buy say either. Those guys never know what the hell they are talking about.

Pick you software FIRST.

If you're using Fruity and Cool Edit and have a ton of PC plugins, they only run on Windows and the choice is already made for you (unless you're willing to flush it all). If you want to go with Logic or Digital Performer they only run on Macs.

Macs and PCs run on essentially the same hardware.

(Been running both platforms since 1984....)
