Ryan,
I don't have any pictures, but I'm going to be working on the front wall and ceiling next. Maybe we can get ideas going.
What kind of ceiling do you have now? Is it finished at all e.g. dry wall etc..
I made a polycylindrical panel and hung from the ceiling for diffusion and it woks great. My space is combined control and recording area so I'm tying not to make it too dead, yet controlled so I know whats going on for mixing. Other than that its insulated
between ceiling joists and finished with acoustical panels.
Ethan,
How about hanging 705 panels from the ceiling? Would it make a difference if reflective material was above that? Your design is a sealed unit, which helps to get the frequency to a lowered hz yes? How about using the 1/4 wave length math and hanging the panels. I understand that it may need to be about 3' to get to bass freq's( generally speaking), but how does that relate to a low ceiling? uh.. I mean does low frequency's tend to be more problematic than mid & high freq's even on a low ceiling? I figured there may be more initial reflections of mid & high freq's due to proximity, but what do I know...
