would that support logic? or would my computer just freak out and have alot of latency.........and say if my friend recorded it on his mackbook pro then i just firewired it to mine would i be able to mix it with not to much messing up.

I'm running the EXACT same computer with 512 MB of RAM and Logic works over here. It has some issues because of the amount of RAM I have, but it still records and plays back just fine.

ok cool thats good to hear......
what problems have/are u experiancing with it. do u think i could do a hole metal album on it withought it freezing up if i used an external hard drive for storage.....??

thanks man

Well I'm waiting for NAMM to find out if a Logic 8 is planned...I don't want to drop $300 on Logic Express if they don't un-cripple the routing scheme.

Reaper is currently being released for Macs, in which case there will be one of the most efficient and powerful DAW's for only $40.

Pro Tools is a bit dated but works fine. Not as efficient as Logic though.

I'm waiting for Reaper to come out so I can spend the $300 on Sonalksis plugs instead of Logic. Also really liked the Nomad Factory analog plugs and want to play with them a bit more. There's a limiter called W1 which is free. And lots of other free stuff floating around.

thanks, anyone else know anything about running it on my laptop?

Should work.... I would also suggest looking into Digital Performer.

hey hey hey, i resent that PT knock!

pro tools isnt outdated. it can probably do anything you can do in Logic, i'd bet.

back to the scheduled programming.
