Live Recording Mics

I understand that this is the Home Recording Forum, however you guys are pretty knowledgable about microphones so here goes.

Okay, here's the deal. I have an HDR in my PA rack and I plan to record live performances. I will mic vocals and drums, most of the other instruments will go direct.

I understand the advantage large diaphram condenser mics have for quality, however they are not particularly suited to a live situation. What microphones would you recommend that will provide clarity while having some ruggedness to withstand the inevitable abuse?

I'd run with what you already have and experiment as you go along. Generally, the live performance is more important.

You'll probably be sticking with dynamic mics and later going from a 57 or 58 to a Beta 57 or 58 for instance for vocals.
