Lexicon Omega - "self record" - how to

Hey guys,

I am new here so pardon my ignorance if I ask anything stupid. This looks like a great forum so I believe I'll get everything solved easily.

So, here's what bothers me.

I use Cubase 4 LE and Lexicon Omega for little home recording, mostly demos and fun, nothing serious. I use plenty of VST instruments.
My problem is turning the Instrument VST tracks into audio tracks so that I can convert the whole thing into a WAV file or something of that sort. Instrument VST track is still basically a MIDI track played through the VST plugin so I believe it basically needs to be audio-recorded, one by one, I guess.

Now, there are soundcards that can take "what I hear" or "stereo mixdown" or something like that as their recording input thus being able to record what's going into them to be played. I can't make my Omega do that. It records from the external outputs only and that's it.

My workaround is recording the stuff over my integrated audio card which is crappy and lame but can do the "what I hear" thingy.
I could, of course, simply loopback the output of the omega onto its inputs wih a patchcable, lol.

Do you have any ideas? Either how to make Omega record itself or how to convert VST midi tracks into audio effectively?

I'm not sure what the terminology in Cubase is, (I use Sonar) but all DAWS have the capability to bounce down the track.

You don't need any hardware, it is all done in Cubase. What you want to do is bounce the midi track with VSTi down to an audio track. Wish I knew Cubase better, but you definately can do it.
